The EPPC-405 is a stand-alone Power PC in a strong and compact aluminium case without fan cooling. The powerful IBM PPC405GP with 200 or 266 MHz enables a performance of up to 375 MIPS. The board is equipped with 16 or 64 Mbyte SDRAM, up to 8 Mbyte Flash and a CompactFlash slot to carry various memory cards. A non-volatile NVRAM enables the EPPC-405 to save valuable process variables during power off sequences. The EPPC-405 comes with an ETHERNET interface for 10 Mbit/s and 100 Mbit/s nets. It is accessible as 10/100BaseT via RJ45 connector in the front panel. The EPPC-405 (I.2001.03) provides 2 CAN interfaces based on SJA1000 CAN - controllers with transfer rates up to 1 Mbit/s. Designed according to ISO 11898 with electrical isolation and DSUB9 connectors, the EPPC-405 has CAN and RS-232 interfaces. The EPPC-405 (I.2001.02) provides 2 serial interfaces as RS-232 via RJ11 and DSUB9 connector. With 2 serial interfaces only one CAN interface is equipped. The flash memory carries a standard ppcboot and enables the EPPC-405 to boot various operating systems from network, onboard Flash or CompactFlash. Thus Linux and VxWorks are directly supported with full support of on-board drivers by esd, others on request. There is also a bunch of higher layer protocols like CANopen, DeviceNet as well as an on-board web server available. With the IEC61131-3 programming and runtime system CoDeSys the EPPC-405 acts like a PLC. Please ask for our CoDeSys flyer.
